When the temperature drops, my edgier side comes out to play. I love anything with leather or hardware for winter and fall and often find myself in head to toe black. All black outfits are famously chic for a reason -they streamline your figure, make you look older, and honestly, it’s just really easy to throw three black pieces on and instantly look pulled together, which is exactly what I did with this look.
I wore this to a DC bloggers meet-up at A Baked Joint (if you haven’t been, I highly recommend you go for your next caffeine fix.) I was running late per usual so I reached for my favorite (p)leather leggings and my go-to sweater. Usually, I pair this outfit with black short boots with gold hardware for an edgy look, but considering I was meeting with a bunch of fashionistas, I broke out the OTK boots. Over the knee boots are a statement-making piece, so I hadn’t brought them out in the daylight yet, but it worked with the oversized sweater and monochrome look. Word of warning – people stared when I sprinted down the street at noon wearing these bad boys. I actually think they thought I was doing the walk of shame, ugh. Some Washingtonians just don’t get fashion.
I’ve had this sweater since my senior year of college and actually picked it up at Pac Sun! I got it on sale for $20, and let me tell you, I’ve gotten my money’s worth with this one. I found you a similar one at Tobi below, but it just goes to show you can find some of your favorite staples at places you wouldn’t expect!
